What do these two incongruous subjects have in common? Well, nothing really, except they're featured highlights on our upcoming Branson trip in the fall, as well as one of our Branson Christmas tours, and our new Amish Country Christmas Traditions tour. I know some of you might be thinking "I've seen Amish life before" or "I've been to Branson countless times." But, if you give one of these tours a chance, you will not come home disappointed. Let me explain.
The Twelve Irish Tenors are coming to Branson for the first time this fall, and they have played to rave reviews around the world.
Playing at the Branson Variety Theater for a limited engagement, this Irish group of twelve will meet and exceed your expectations. As another reviewer put it - "This show is full of energy, and song after song flowed in a seamless, theatrical production that is one of the best I've ever seen for sheer pace, vitality, and entertainment. 'Danny Boy' brought a tear to the eye, and 'Nussun Dorma' was worthy of a Pavarotti moment in anyone's book. David King, producer of the show, has created one of his best works yet, and this show rivals his previous production 'Spirit of the Dance' wonderfully."
Need I say more? This is a must see
show and you can see it, along with other great shows we have in store, on our Branson & Eureka Springs tour this October, and our Branson Music Christmas tour December 6-9, 2007. Both itineraries are listed in this newsletter on pages 10-11.
As I previously mentioned, many of you have probably toured Amish communities in one area of our country or another. But, this tour will take you into the life of the Amish during the holidays, and I can guarantee you that you will experience attractions and eat some meals that you have never experienced before. I am really excited about this trip and, if you read through the itinerary, you will be as well.
The Amish community that you will visit is in Nappanee, Indiana, home to the second largest Amish community in the country, following Lancaster. One of the signature events on your tour is a live performance of White Christmas at the Round Barn Theater. You've seen the movie, now see it in person - it's even better on stage. Prior to the show, you'll have a reception with the cast and a themed dinner with such delectable items as Irving's prime rib, Stollen bread,
spiced peaches and brandy, Berlin biscuits, red raspberry Yuletide pie, snowballs, and on and on.
There are many one-of-a-kind events that make this tour so special. One of them is "Holiday Baking With Frieda" where you'll get to see how she creates some of her incredible Amish treats. Take a covered farm wagon ride on an authentic Amish farm; a special thresher's dinner and Wasall Christmas cake dinner with live entertainment to include story telling, yodeling, and great music; the incredible haystack lunch that you build yourself, and is an Amish tradition in northern Indiana. How about a lecture on Amish life where you get to hear about the traditions of the Amish during the holidays and ask questions of an Amish expert. Take a behind-the-scenes tour at the Round Barn Theater to see how a live performance looks from the other side of the stage. There's these and more Amish cultural events waiting for you on our new Amish Country Christmas tour.
So, even if you've visited Amish communities before, or been to Branson, these two new tours will put excitement back into travel for you. You can find complete tour itineraries for both of these tours in this newsletter. Fun Tours - working hard to bring you fresh ideas in travel (see pages 7, 10 and 11).
