Dear Fun Tours Traveler,

Brent Kalemkiarian

“Good Mornin’ America, how are ya? Don’t you know me I’m your native son. I’m the train they call the City of New Orleans. I’ll be gone 500 miles when the day is done.” This familiar verse, taken from the popular song “City of New Orleans” from Arlo Guthrie, is a perfect introduction to a new year of travel with Fun Tours. We’ve designed new and exciting rail tours for 2012 as we begin a new year of travel January 1st.

The success of our California Zephyr Adventure made me realize that I’m not the only one looking for new ideas in travel, including more tours with train travel that avoids all the hassle of airline terminals. You are, too. So, we’ve come up with two new Amtrak trips to include the City of New Orleans Adventure and Grand Canyon by Rail. Both trips will include overnight accommodations on Amtrak, meals in the diner, and a pace of travel that is just plain relaxing. Both of these trips will train to your destination, tour for 4 days, and fly home. We will, of course, be bringing back the popular California Zephyr Adventure, which I had the pleasure to escort and thoroughly enjoyed. They’re easy to find under the “Rail Journeys” section of the tour index.

Rail trips aren’t the only new tours that we’ve added for 2012. We’ve brought back Washington, D.C. at cherry blossom time for a short 4 day trip; journey to eastern Canada and Nova Scotia on our new Holland America Eastern Canada cruise; cool off in the Canadian Rockies and witness the exciting Calgary Stampede; beat the heat with our new Cape Cod, Newport & Martha’s Vineyard tour; cruise the beautiful Danube River; and much more. Back for 2012 is our Backroads of Switzerland tour where you make your home-stay in a beautiful village high in the Swiss Alps, making day trips from your hotel. It’s a perfect European holiday.

From all of us at Fun Tours, thank you for the privilege to serve you for your hard-earned vacation plans. Vacation time is a precious commodity, and we will strive every day to provide you with the best quality value in travel from the Midwest.

Sincerely,
Brent Kalemkiarian, President
