Day 1 Travel Day
Begin your journey with an overnight flight
to Frankfurt, Germany.
Day 2 Frankfurt / Rüdesheim (D)
Upon arrival in Frankfurt, drive to
Rüdesheim on the Rhine. Depending on
arrival time, you may visit Heidelberg before
driving to Rüdesheim for overnight.
Day 3 Rhine River Cruise / Lorelei Rock / St. Goarshausen/Marksburg Castle (B)
This morning one of the highlights of your
tour is cruise on the most beautiful section
of the Rhine River. After passing the famous
Lorelei Rock, disembark at St. Goarshausen.
Then, drive along the Rhine and tour the
impressive Marksburg Castle. Evening at
leisure.
Day 4 Rothenburg / Tauber River (B, D)
This morning travel to Rothenburg, located
on the beautiful Tauber River. Upon arrival,
take a short walking tour of this medieval
walled city. Your local guide will tell the
story of how Mayor Nusch saved the city
during the 30 years war as well as
other tales of the past. You will truly take a step back in time when you walk through this–well preserved medieval city with its cobblestone streets.
Day 5 Dinkelsbuhl or Nordlingen / Neuschwanstein Castle (B, D)
Drive along the Romantic Road stopping at
either Dinkelsbühl or Nördlingen. Today’s
journey takes you off the Autobahn through
winding roads and small villages. Visit
Neuschwanstein Castle, the Disney type
castle designed by King Ludwig.
Day 6 Oberammergau / The Passion Play (B, L, D)
The morning is free for exploring Oberammergau.
After lunch attend the Passion Play,
the highlight of your tour. There will be an
intermission for dinner and then return to
the Passion Play theater for the conclusion of
the performance.
Day 7 Munich / Olympic Grounds / Glockenspiel / Hofbrauhaus (B)
Drive to Munich today for a short orientation
tour of the city, including the Olympic
grounds, the Glockenspiel,
the grounds of Nymphenbug
Castle, and the
pedestrian
zone. This evening,
visit the famous Hofbräuhaus.
Day 8 Flight Home (B)
Drive to the Munich airport
for your return flight
to the United States.
