Get ready for an exciting trip to our nation’s
capitol as you board your “Washington D.C.
coach” for a journey to Lincoln’s Springfield.
This evening enjoy dinner with your fellow
travel mates, hosted by your tour director.
Day 2 Lincoln Presidential Library / Lincoln’s Tomb (B)
This morning, visit the new Abraham Lincoln
Presidential Library. This $145 million
facility provides a detailed look into the many
issues of Lincoln’s presidency. Next visit
Lincoln’s Tomb State Historic Site in which
the crypts of President Lincoln, Mrs. Lincoln
and their three children are buried. This
afternoon make your way to Indianapolis.
Day 3 Travel Day / Gateway Cinema – Fields of Freedom (DCB)
Upon the arrival into Gettysburg, see the visually,
hauntingly realistic Fields of Freedom
at the Gateway Theater. Shown on a threestory
screen, the movie is based on diaries of
Union and Confederate soldiers.
Day 4 Gettysburg Museum / Cyclorama / Gettysburg Battlefield / Udvar-Hazy Air &
Space Museum (B, D)
This morning’s activities include The Gettysburg
Museum, one of the world’s largest
collections of artifacts from the Civil War;
the Cyclorama Center at the Gettysburg
National Military Park; and a tour of Gettysburg
Battlefield with a professional Civil War
guide. Later this afternoon, visit the Smithsonian
Institution’s Steven Udvar-Hazy Center
National Air and Space Museum. There
are over 335 air and spacecraft on display,
including the Space shuttle Enterprise, the
B-17 Flying Fortress, and the Enola Gay.
Day 5 Arlington National Cemetery / Embassy Row / Washington National Cathedral / National Archives/White House

Today, your full day of sightseeing will
include such sites as Arlington National
Cemetery, Embassy Row, Washington
National Cathedral, photo stop outside the
White House, the National Archives (pending
availability), all the Memorials;
World War II, Vietnam Veterans, Lincoln, and Korean. This evening will be very special when you take the Illumination Tour of Washington, to include the Iwo Jima Memorial, a walk through the Kennedy Performing Arts Center, and a drive by the Washington Monument, White House and U.S. Capitol Building.
Day 6 Newseum / FDR Memorial / Jefferson Memorial / Air Force Memorial /
Smithsonians (B, D)
Today’s adventure begins with a visit to Newseum,
the only interactive museum of news.
Stop at the Franklin D. Roosevelt Memorial
and the Jefferson Memorial on the Tidal Basin.
Built on a hillside overlooking the Pentagon,
your next stop is the Air Force Memorial.
This afternoon you can visit the Smithsonian
Institution’s museum of your choice.
Day 7 Capitol Hill / US Capitol / Supreme Court / Library of Congress / Mount Vernon (B, D)
This morning depart for Capitol Hill. Stop
for a photo and narrative tour of the outside
of the US Capitol. Tour the Supreme Court
Building and the Library of Congress. Escape
the 21st century this afternoon as you visit
George Washington’s Mount Vernon estate.
Explore his mansion filled with 18th-century
treasures and stroll the gardens of this
45-acre estate and take in the views of the
Potomac River from the mansion’s piazza.
Day 8 Monticello / Michie Tavern / University of Virginia Rotunda (CB, L)
Tour Monticello, the mountaintop home of
Thomas Jefferson. Enjoy a hearty Colonial
period fare buffet lunch today at historic
Michie Tavern, a 200-year old converted log
house. Before continuing home, stop for a
photo opportunity of Jefferson’s Rotunda at
the University of Virginia.
Day 9 Travel Day (B, D)
Continue on your journey homeward. Your
night’s stay will be in the St. Louis area.

Travel home today thinking about all the
history of our country you have experienced
and the sacrifice our forefathers made to
make our country great.
