Day 1 Travel Day (D)
Board your “Door County Cherry Blossom”
coach for a trip of serene beauty and
beautiful spring blossoms. Your tour director
will help you get to know your fellow
travelmates as you make your way through
Iowa and into Illinois. Meet tonight with
your friends for a welcome dinner.
Day 2 Door County Maritime Museum / Fish Creek Shopping (CB, D)
By mid-day, you’ll be at your destination
– Door County,WI. Your first stop
is the Door County Maritime Museum
that exhibits the span of nautical history of
Door County from early American canoes
to post-World War II Bulk Carriers. You
can even see a tug boat up close. This
afternoon, take time to stroll the quaint
village of Fish Creek. This evening, relax at
your hotel and enjoy dinner with your new
travel mates.
Day 3 Door County Cherry Blossom Orchards / Cana Island Lighthouse / Lighthouse Cruise / Fish Boil (CB, D)
This morning, a local guide will take you
on a tour of beautiful Door County to
see the cherry blossom orchards in bloom
(subject to weather conditions). As you
traverse the county, you’ll take in beautiful
picturesque views of both Lake Michigan
and Green Bay. Pass through quaint towns
such as Bailey’s Harbor, Sister Bay, Ephraim
and Egg Harbor. This afternoon explore
one of Door County’s historic lighthouses –
Cana Island Lighthouse. You’ll understand
the important role it played as a part of the
maritime history of Door County. Then
take a short cruise for a ship’s perspective
of how a lighthouse works. Tonight is
reserved for a Door County tradition – a
Wisconsin Fish Boil! Local tradition dates
this special meal back to the Scandinavian
settlers and lumberjacks. We won’t tell you
any more, but you’ll love it! (non-fish options
available)
Day 4 Washington Island Tour / Eat a “Lawyer” for Lunch / Schoolhouse
Beach / Door County Winery / Wilson’s 1906 Ice
Cream Parlor (CB, L, D)
This morning board the Washington Island
Ferry to Washington Island. Your Washington
Island step-on guide will take you
on a tour to point out the many geological
features of the island, as well as the history
and way of life of its inhabitants. Stop at
Schoolhouse Beach and experience why it is
only one of five of its kind left in the world.
Instead of being covered in sand, it is covered
in tons of smooth stones. Next, here’s
your chance to eat a “Lawyer” for lunch,
a locally-caught fish, prepared just right
(subject to availability). Then, ferry back
to Door County for a little taste of the vine
when you visit two Door County wineries
famous for their specialty fruit wines, with
each cultivating their own vineyards using
locally-grown grapes. Then settle back for
a little “R & R” at your hotel. After dinner
at one of Door County’s excellent restaurants,
a special treat awaits at Wilson’s Old
Fashioned Ice Cream Parlor where you’ll
step back into the past as this has been a
classic Door County landmark since 1906.
Enjoy an ice cream treat at Wilson’s where
you’ll feel like a kid again.
Day 5 Al Johnson’s Swedish Breakfast / Packers Stadium Tour & Visitor’s Center / WI Cheese Outlet (B, D)
Before you head home, you have to make
a stop at Al Johnson’s Swedish Restaurant.
Their Swedish pancakes are “out of this
world!” You’ll notice something a little bit
unusual when you pull up to Al’s – goats
on the roof. We’ll save the explanation for
later. Then, head toward Green Bay where
you’ll get a chance to tour the Packers
Stadium and Visitor’s Center for all kinds
of Packers memorabilia. We’ll also make a
stop at a Wisconsin Cheese Outlet. Enjoy
one final dinner with your travel mates this
evening.
Day 6 Travel Home (CB)
It’s time to head home after a fun trip to
one of the Top 10 destinations in the country
– Door County, with Fun Tours.
