Day 1 Travel Day / Denver (D)
Today travel to the southwest area of the United
States to witness some of the most spectacular
scenery found anywhere in the country. Your
tour director will help you to get to know your
fellow travel mates along the way.
Day 2 Arches National Park / Canyonlands
by Night Show (B, D)
Journey through Colorado leaving behind the
rolling hills and golden plains that give way to
the awe-inspiring Rocky Mountains. Among
the red rock canyons, spires and balancing
rocks of Utah, is Arches National Park,
containing the largest number of natural stone
arches in the country. A knowledgeable guide
will provide interesting commentary on the
many formations seen while driving through
the park.
Day 3 Capitol Reef National Park / Bryce
Canyon (CB, PL)
Travel through the inspiring Capitol Reef
National Park, and see astounding pinnacles,
arches, and natural cathedrals. View one of
Utah’s most scenic drives as you travel to Bryce
Canyon. A real treat awaits when you take a
guided Sunset Tour of Bryce Canyon National
Park in which the vivid colors and stunning
rock formations of the canyon come alive.
Day 4 Zion National Park / Glen Canyon Dam/Lake Powell Cruise
(B “To Go”)
Incredible scenery continues at Zion National
Park, where sandstone rock has shaped unique
and beautiful formations. Then it’s on to the
Glen Canyon National Recreation Area to
catch a glimpse of the Glen Canyon Dam,
one of the highest dams in the United States.
Travel deep into scenic Antelope Canyon
with its dramatic, steep red sandstone walls
on your Lake Powell cruise. The views will be
breathtaking.
Day 5 Grand Canyon / IMAX Theater (CB)
It’s off to the magnificent Grand Canyon
where you’ll marvel at one of nature’s greatest
works of art. Experience the thill of flying
through the Grand Canyon at the IMAX
Theater. Or, take an optional helicopter tour
to experience it first-hand. Visit the Cameron
Indian Trading Post where Native American
arts are showcased. An unexpected pleasure
are the charming gardens and views of the
Little Colorado River Gorge.
Day 6 Navajo Code Talkers / Mesa Verde
National Park / Cortez, CO
Take a brief stop in Kayenta, AZ, and discover the
Navajo Code Talkers, Indian soldiers who used
their language in a secret code assisting in the win
of World War II. Explore the ancient Anasazi
Indians Cliff Dwellings with a local guide.
Day 7 Silverton-Durango RR / Million
Dollar Highway / Montrose (CB)
Today, board the Durnago Silverton Narrow
Gauge Railroad for a nostalgic ride into the
past and behold the spectacular mountain
scenery of the San Juan National Forest
between Durango and Silverton. Then,
travel over the Million Dollar Highway to the
“Switzerland of America,” Ouray, Colo., an
old silver and gold mining town.
Day 8 Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Monument / Royal Gorge
(CB, D)
More wondrous scenery unfolds at the Black
Canyon of the Gunnison National Monument,
twelve miles of the deepest and most scenic
portion of the Gunnison River Gorge. From the
top of the Royal Gorge, gaze at the river meandering
through the canyon far below. A Cowboy
dinner with all the “fixins” followed by a country
music show will be a fun way to end the day.
Day 9 Pikes Peak Cog Railway or Seven
Falls / Garden of the Gods/U.S. Air Force
Academy (CB, D)
Begin the day with two options to choose
from: the Pikes Peak Cog Railway in Manitou
Springs that takes you to the 14,100 ft. summit
of Pikes Peak, OR you can choose to visit the
Seven Falls. Please book either one of these
two options when you make your reservation.
Drive through the Garden of the Gods to see
towering red sandstone formations that created
this unique and picturesque park. Scenic overlooks
and the architecturally distinct chapel are
features of the U.S. Air Force Academy.
Day 10 Travel Home (B, L)
Return home captivated by the magnificent
beauty of our nation’s canyonlands!
