Venture to the Great National Parks of the
Northern Rocky Mountains, as you travel
across Nebraska towards Wyoming. Watch the
scenery of the Great Plains turns toward the
Rocky Mountains while getting to know your
fellow travelers.
Day 2 Cloud Peak Skyway / Big Horn Mountains (CB, D)
Travel today on the Cloud Peak Skyway
through the Big Horn Mountains as the breathtaking
vistas and snow capped peaks will captivate
you as we travel west to Cody, Wyoming.
Named after Buffalo Bill Cody, this town is a
symbol of the old American West. Optional
activities this evening include: Option #1: The
Dan Miller Cowboy Review – This show is like
a “mini-Grand Ole Opry” with cowboy singing
from up and coming country western musicians.
Option #2: The Cody Nite Rodeo -
With over 55 years of rodeo entertainment, the
Cody Nite Rodeo has earned Cody the title of
“Rodeo Capital of the World”.
Day 3 Buffalo Bill Historical Center / Yellowstone National Park / Old Faithful (CB, D)
Visit the beautiful Buffalo Bill Historical Center
that earned the National Medal for Museum
and Library Service by First Lady Laura Bush
in October of 2008, and houses five museums.
One of the five museums - The Buffalo Bill
Museum- examines the personal and public life
of W.F. “Buffalo Bill” Cody. Then, continue
traveling west to the world’s first national park
- Yellowstone National Park. Watch as “Old
Faithful” erupts more than any of the other
big geysers in Yellowstone, making it the most
popular attraction. Enjoy dinner with your
travel mates before your two-night stay in the
Yellowstone Lodge.
Day 4 Mammoth Hot Springs / Tower Falls / Grand Canyon of Yellowstone (CB, L)
Take your camera, as well as your binoculars
and walking shoes, as you visit several sites in
Yellowstone National Park such as Mammoth
Hot Springs, Tower Falls, Grand Canyon of
Yellowstone, and other popular sites.
Day 5 Quake Lake / Grant-Kohrs Ranch National Park / Glacier National Park (CB)
Explore the results of the 1959 Yellowstone
Earthquake at “Quake Lake.” See how the lake
was formed as a result of this earthquake fifty years
ago. Then, visit the Grant/Kohrs Ranch National
Park and see what it took for the rugged men and
women to survive in the “wild west.” Once a 10 million acre cattle empire, the Ranch preserves the western symbols and commemorates the role of cattle men in American history. Then sit back and watch the beautiful mountain scenery as you head for Kalispell, Montana near the west entrance to Glacier National Park.
Day 6 Going-To-The-Sun Road / Glacier National Park (CB, L)
One of the most memorable highlights in Glacier
National Park is a drive on the “Going to the Sun
Road”. This road, deemed an engineering marvel,
takes you 50 miles through the park’s wild interior,
winding around mountainsides and peering down
over-looks. Board vintage “jammers” with rollback
canvas tops so you don’t miss a single view!
Day 7 Lewis & Clark National Historic Trail
Interpretive Center/C.M. Russell Museum (CB)
This morning visit the Lewis and Clark
National Historic Trail Interpretive Center in
Great Falls, Montana. Witness the challenges
faced by the Lewis and Clark Expedition as they
portage the great falls of the Missouri River.
Then, visit the C.M. Russell Museum and see
that Old West is still alive through the paintings
and artistry of C.M. Russell, cowboy artist.
Day 8 Big Sky Country / Theodore Roosevelt National Park / Pitchfork Fondue / Medora Musical (CB, D)
Today, travel through the Big Sky Country of
Montana where mountains and valleys provide
awesome scenery as you head toward Medora,
North Dakota. Stop at the Theodore Roosevelt
National Park in North Dakota that features
Roosevelt’s first cabin from the Maltese Cross
Ranch. Tonight be treated to a steak dinner,
Pitchfork Fondue style, and then it’s off to the
Medora Musical – a professionally produced
musical variety show performed in the outdoor
Burning Hills Amphitheatre located in the
heart of the North Dakota Badlands.
Day 9 Fort Abraham Lincoln State Park / Lt. Col. George Custer Home (CB)
Visit the Fort Abraham Lincoln State Park, an
infantry and cavalry post from which Lt. Col.
George Custer led the 7th Cavalry to the Battle
of the Little Bighorn in 1876, and tour the
home in which Custer lived.
Day 10 Travel Home (CB)
Sit back and reflect on all the sights, spectacular
scenery, and events you have seen and done.
