Day 1 Travel Day / Boston Tour / Quincy Market (D)
After your arrival at Logan Airport, spend
the afternoon on a Boston City tour with a
local guide and enjoy Quincy Market. Feel
the cobblestones beneath your feet, see roaming
performers and taste the wonderfully
diverse ethnic foods
Day 2 Maine / Kennebunkport / Franciscan Monastery / Maine Narrow Gauge Railroad / Lobsterbake Dinner (B, D)
Enjoy a narrated driving tour of the coastal
villages of Kennebunk and Kennebunkport.
Visit the Franciscan Monastery with its
groomed lawns, outdoor shrines and chapel.
This afternoon visit a Maine Lighthouse, and
then it’s on to Portland, a restored seacoast
town and Maine’s largest city. Ride the rails
aboard the Maine Narrow Gauge Railroad
for a scenic train ride along Portland Harbor
overlooking the Calendar Islands of Casco
Bay. Enjoy time to visit the museum here
that features the historic “two-footer” trains
that ran between many towns in rural
Maine.
Day 3 New Hampshire / Conway Scenic Railway / Kancamangus Highway (B, D)
Enjoy a spectacular fall foliage ride on the
Conway Scenic Railway departing from
the historic station on Schouler Park in the
vacation village of North Conway, New
Hampshire. On this valley route you will
experience the excitement of rail travel in
the comfort of restored passenger cars. This
afternoon, travel the “Kancamangus Highway,”
one the most scenic routes in North
America, located in the White Mountains of
New Hampshire.
Day 4 Kancamangus Highway / M/S Mount Washington / Winnipesaukee Scenic
Railroad (B, D)
Travel south to Winnipesaukee for a memorable
cruise on Lake Winnipesaukee aboard
the M/S Mount Washington. After lunch tour the Wright Museum that
highlights the World War II years with both war and everyday life exhibits. Late afternoon, arrive at the Meredith Station and board the Winnipesaukee Scenic Railroad for a two hour trip along Lake Winnipesaukee. Ride the rails while enjoying Hart’s Hot Roast Turkey carved right at your table with all the trimmings!
Day 5 Cannon Mountain Aerial Tramway / Hobo Railroad/Cape Cod / Lobster
Dinner (B, D)
Ride the Cannon Mountain Aerial Tramway,
an eighty passenger aerial tram that whisks
you above the timberline. Travel to 4,200
feet and arrive at the summit for spectacular
views of the White Mountains. Board “The
Hobo Railroad” in Lincoln, New Hampshire
for a trip into a bygone era when train travel
was at its peak. Then, travel to Cape Cod
and savor a lobster dinner before checking
into your hotel for the night.
Day 6 Hyannis / Cape Cod Central Railroad / Flight Home (B)
Begin your day in the “hub” of Cape Cod
– Hyannis. Stop at the Kennedy Memorial
and the Korean War Memorial, drive
through the village of Hyannisport and view
St. Francis Xavier Church. Then, board the
Cape Cod Central Railroad for a journey
to the quaint town of Sandwich. Then, it’s
time to head home with many fond memories
of your Railroads of New England tour.
