Day 2 Duluth City Tour / Glensheen

Take a city tour of Duluth, a sprawling city
on the edge of Lake Superior. Visit Glensheen
Mansion, a 39-room Jacobean Revival
mansion that is Minnesota’s premier historic
house museum. Other interesting stops include
the Great Lakes Aquarium, the Depot,
and the Lake Superior Railroad Museum.
Day 3 Northshore Scenic Byway Drive / Gooseberry Falls / Split Rock Lighthouse

Gooseberry Falls is the gateway to the North
Shore. It is known for its spectacular waterfalls,
river gorge, and Lake Superior shoreline.
Next view the Split Rock Lighthouse;
built in 1910, it sits on a 130-foot sheer cliff.
Also, stop at the Two Harbors Lighthouse
built in 1892.
Day 4 Scenic Travel Day (DCB)
A picturesque autumn shoreline will fill your
scenic travel on your way to Wawa, ON,
today.
Day 5 Sault Ste. Marie / Soo Locks Tour / Canadian Bushplane Heritage Center / Lake Superior Interpretive Center / Pancake Bay (D)
Today, continue along the beautiful shoreline of Lake Superior with many picturesque
stops along the way. Upon arrival in Sault
Ste. Marie, board your
Soo Locks Cruise – one of the heaviest commercial traffic Locks in the world. Also, visit the Canadian Bush Plane Heritage Center for an interesting look into the bush plane industry.
Day 6 Algoma Central Railroad Train (B, L)
Welcome aboard one of the most popular
train excursions in North America—the Algoma
Central Railroad Agawa Canyon train
express. Your one-day wilderness trip will
take you 114 miles north of Sault Ste. Marie.
Algoma County is ablaze with magnificent
fall color! Travel over towering trestles, see
pristine northern lakes and rivers, as well as
awesome granite rock formations and mixed
forests of the Canadian Shield. The train will
coast 500 feet down to the floor of the Agawa
Canyon, where you can experience the beauty
up close with scenic walks, four waterfalls,
and a lookout platform above the tracks.
Day 7 Frederik Meijer Gardens / Gerald R. Ford Museum (CB, D)
After arriving in Grand Rapids, MI, discover
the beauty and splendor of the elegant
Frederik Meijer Gardens. Their spectacular
world-class botanic gardens and sculpture
park are absolutely breathtaking! Next is a
stop at the Gerald R. Ford Museum. See
many interactive exhibits about the life of
our 38th President, as well as his burial place.
Day 8 Holland, MI / Jacob Henry Mansion (B, D)
Today enjoy some time for
sightseeing in Holland, MI, the all-
American city with a Dutch accent,
on the shores of Lake
Michigan.
In Joliet tonight, enjoy a scrumptious
dinner at the elegant mansion
of Jacob Henry, a wealthy railroad
magnate of the 1870s.
Day 9 Travel Home (DCB)
Arrive home today with smiling
thoughts of autumn splendor of
the Lake Superior Shores.
